Budding Entrepreneurs

hustle and hawk
The “Hustle and Hawk” event, organized by Vinita Kale Ma’am as part of her Entrepreneurship Development course at MIT WPU, was designed to develop and test the marketing and entrepreneurial abilities of second-year MCA students. Held on October 1st and 3rd, the event aimed to offer real-world sales experience by challenging participants to sell products within a designated 2-kilometer radius of the college. This hands-on exercise focused on customer engagement, persuasive selling techniques, and teamwork.

Each participant was assigned a product and tasked with meeting a specific sales target. The event emphasized creativity, professionalism, and effective communication, with participants required to approach and sell to unfamiliar individuals, ensuring fairness. The evaluation criteria included their ability to convince, handle objections, and adapt their marketing strategies in real-time.

First-year students, mainly from the Budding Entrepreneurs Forum, played a crucial role in coordinating the event by acting as volunteers and event managers. Their responsibilities included overseeing sales efforts, monitoring adherence to the event’s rules, and providing guidance to the participants.

The event was structured in several phases: a kick-off meeting to brief participants on their tasks, an execution phase where sales were conducted, and a judgment phase to evaluate the participants’ performances. Volunteers tracked the participants’ progress throughout the event.

“Hustle and Hawk” successfully provided MCA students with a practical opportunity to enhance their sales and marketing skills.
